Gig @ Madame Jojo’s
19 June '09 by stu, under Uncategorized.
well hello good people, its me again with another blog…im making a little habit of this…As it was our first gig in alittle while i thought i’d give a little lowdown on the night!
The bill was pretty impressive with bright lights bright lights, speech debelle..and special guest….wait for it…HOWARD JONES. Admittedly i wasn’t too familiar with his stuff..i think i was born a little too late in the eighties to know him but he was good, as were all the other bands.
I think we were all pretty pleased with our performance, i personally was really happy and had a great time being on stage and bashing things again…it was awesome fun, can’t wait to get back to gigging regularly again..my particular highlight was the bassdrop on ‘In The Ocean’..EVERYTHING rattled…i mean..there’s a brown sound and then there is that bassdrop, i could see some worried expressions in the crowd! haha enough of my rambling. It was an awesome night had by all and you can find pictures from the lovely prs for music people here!

Recording Album @ Bryn Derwen Studios North Wales
02 June '09 by stu, under Uncategorized.
Hello all! I hope you are all enjoying this glorious weather that sems to have hit us as much as i am…i think i got burnt today….but anyway, to the matter in hand!
Just a wee update to let you all know that we have been in Wales for the past week recording our debut album with producer Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild, Kylie..yes..kylie) It was absolutely amazing up there, and what we have so far sounds awesome, so very chuffed indeed! It was an awesome time had by all with many a hillarity ensuing at various points. Sandy has been doing a tour diary which is awesome and im sure he will upload for the baying public to view at some point soon, so stay tuned!
Dave was a lovely beast of a man and, my golly, what a laugh he has, its more infectious than swine flu i tells ya! We did all our drum bass and guitar tracks but Mike is still there by himself recording piano and vocals this week, which is going well i suspect.
I keep telling him he is going to get murdered, its a pretty scary place to be if you are on your own at night, mountains, wind, greenery, unexplained animal rustlings you know the drill…actually that reminds me, one night me and paul went in the living room and there was a frog there. He freaked out and i had to put on rubber gloves and catch it…Paul spent the rest of the week convinced there were frogs in the house.
anyways, more to follow that’s just a wee snippet for you! here is a photo of a vibey drum kit
much love, Stuart

Who likes to rock the party? We like to rock the party..Well actually Manny Pacquiao does..
03 May '09 by stu, under Uncategorized.
So…there i was..3:45am Bristol Mean time in my living room gering up to watch one of the biggest boxing matches of EVER! you heard me right, EVER. Ricky Hatton Vs Manny Pacquiao. I Love drumming, but i also love sports. It was tense. Im a big sports fan. this was a big sport event. the two made perfect ingredients for a great night. i dimmed the lights, lit some candles and made a cup of tea in anticipation of 12 great rounds. But to my horror 2 rounds later and £15 of pay per view lighter i was going back to bed without even finishing my cup of tea. Game over, Our heroic Brit was made to look a clown being knocked down 3 times in two rounds. Usually when i spend £15 i feel drunk or am happy with a new snazzy t-shirt i have just impulse bought but after this i just feel really tired.
That wasn’t worth it at all! (actually it was one of the finest displays of boxing you are likely to see, but not from the right person!)
So, as i write this dear reader i am tired, my sleeping pattern has now been ruined and £15 has been stolen away from me by a cheeky phillipino boxer.
oh well! you win some, you lose some!

Howdy
29 March '09 by sandy, under Uncategorized.
Aye aye peeps,
My first step into the world of blogging has now begun - hoorah. I type this from my bed as I am unable to move after a monstrous 6 mile run which my sister some how convinced me to take part in…..She is ludicriously good at the ol’ jogging…I, however, am not.
We played a show on Friday at ‘Bar Music Hall’ in London and despite a near breakdown by a certain member of the band, a rowdy Essex crowd and a broken bass amp, much fun was had by all! Plus we actually managed to park within close proximity to the venue and for FREE!! Good times and probably a first for a London show.
At present, I am trying to write a song which resembles the amazing ‘Never Too Much’ by Luther Vandross…No luck of yet…
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend and can feel their limbs unlike me,
Sandy x

Anvil! The Story of Anvil
18 March '09 by stu, under Uncategorized.
I have to be honest this article is not to do with the band but this amazing movie everybody should see!
When you go the movies and you see the tagline “at fourteen they made a pact to rock together forever…they meant it” you know you need to see this movie. I for one am not much of a metal head but there is someting so inspiriational/heartbreaking/awesome about two 50 year old dudes still following the dream and trying to get signed after 30 years of failure. I dont want to ruin it for anyone but in places its like a real life spinal tap, but gives hope to anyone in a band to keep going!…in a roundabout way…anyway, to entice you further to see this movie i will leave you with this tasty picture

We iz in that Q magazine innit
09 March '09 by stu, under Uncategorized.
Hello good people of the interweb, just a little titbit from the popular music press which tickled my fancy! We have been given a rather nice review in Q magazine on page 106, (yes thats right, page 106) in the cleverly titled NET BIG THING collumn reviewing the best music online. (see what they did there..) so! if you are bored in your local convience shop or supermarket why not have a peek. if you dont want to look for us lily allen is half naked with panthers on the front cover, if shes your kind of thing..
In other news i have been busy teaching myself glockenspiel on my Angel AX-25n, which sounds complex but essentially a kids glockenspiel in a nice baby blue case.
Anyway, enough from me and my rambling in my first foray into internet blogging, big love!

Prince Albert gig / rehearsals
20 February '09 by mike, under Uncategorized.
Hello, hello good people.
We played at the Prince Albert last friday, which was fun. The set felt a little bit short to be honest, which is something we will be remedying over the next few weeks… we’ve started rehearsing some new songs for the live show, some of which will hopefully be spewed out when we play in London on March 27th.
Most of these I’ve recorded on my computer in dodgy demo style and its so ludicrously exiting when I hear them being played by REAL PEOPLE that I can’t help but have a very big stupid grin on my face in rehearsal..
Anyway here is a nice review of the gig:

And here is a nice picture courtesy of Katie McCullum…

Good Grief!
07 February '09 by mike, under Uncategorized.
Well hello there..
This is our spangly new website. It took me about 8 years to confront, understand and then rip apart the tool known as ‘wordpress’ in order to bring to you an exiting yet chilling vision of the future. I’ve been signing up to more social networking websites recently than I can grasp my spindly fingers round, I can’t even remember the passwords for most of them..
I have just been to see the band ‘Aaron King’ and had a formidable time. Aaron’s songwriting leaves me with a slightly jealous feeling in my trousers, it was a mostly new set tonight and I must say the songs were fantastic. 7/4 5/4 3/4.. these guys see a slightly awkward time signature and they eat it. EAT IT. But not like Genesis. More like Kate Nash. Only kidding.
My favourite songs are.. oh I don’t know I’m too drunk right now, but you NEED to get these guys in your life. I’m so gay for them.

Adios and apologies for my slightly illiterate first step into the world of blogging…
